Splendor:
Ceramics by Rain Harris

August 5–September 17, 2006

Flaunting the aesthetics of lowbrow culture, Rain Harris' artwork explores the tension between elegance and kitsch. Inspired by elements found within overtly feminized boudoirs of earlier decades, as well as the visual language of textiles and wallpaper, her pieces illuminate the complexities of taste and push the boundaries of ornamental exaggeration. Harris recently completed a residency at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia.
